The gang were recorded by CCTV cameras carrying out the heist at Joyalukkas, a Middle Eastern jewelry chain, in the Forest Gate area of east London.

Officers for the Metropolitan Police say the robbery took place between 3 a.m. and 6.40 a.m. on July 10, a Monday.

They said the men used a sledgehammer and a crowbar to make a hole in the wall, which three people crawled through to access the store.

The video shows hooded figures inside the store piling items of jewelry into a backpack. The stolen items include diamond necklaces, bracelets, earrings and pendants, police said.

Officers believe that a total of eight men were involved in the heist three burglars and five look-outs, some of whom had been watching the store for more than 10 hours before the burglary was carried out.
