Indian PM Modi mourns deaths in Bangladesh ferry disaster
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his “grief” at the loss of lives in the Padma ferry capsize in Bangladesh that has killed 69 people.
“My prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives in the accident in Bangladesh,” he tweeted on Monday.
The double-decker MV Mostofa-3 sank on its way to Daulatdia after being hit by a cargo vessel, MV Nargis-1, soon after leaving Paturia dock on Sunday noon.
Authorities called off the rescue operations on Monday after more than 20 hours of the incident.
