AL slams BNP for its past anti-India past
Leaders of the ruling Awami League (AL) on Monday criticised the BNP saying the party should apologise for doing anti-Indian politics for the past 21 years.
They also claimed that after failing to topple the AL-led government, the BNP leaders are now engaged in spreading lies ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dhaka that they did not speak against India in the past and would not do so in the future.
Speaking at a discussion in the capital, AL advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta said whatever the BNP leaders are now saying about their stance on India, ‘is nothing but lies’.
“They should apologise for their stance against India as there is no shame seeking apology to someone in politics,” Suranjit said.
He also said the BNP has been doing anti-India politics for the last 21 years and that working as the collaborators of Pakistan.
“They had done anti-India politics in the past and would do the same in the future although they are now saying that their party would not oppose India anymore”, claimed the veteran AL leader.
