Sharif and Mintu gets Gallows for Rakib murder case
A Khulna court on Sunday sentenced two people to death for killing 13 years old boy Rakib Hawlader earlier in August 2015.
The three accused in the case were Omar Sharif, his mother Beauty Begum and his uncle Mintu Mia. The duo sentenced to death were Sharif and Mia. Charges against Begum were dropped.
On Aug 3, Rakib’s former employers Sharif and Miya, pumped air into the boy’s abdomen using an air pump through his rectum.
The high pressure caused Rakib’s internal organs to tear leading to internal bleeding. He was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
