The fare of buses and minibuses is going to rise by 10 paisa per kilometre. The new fares will be effective as of the 1st of October. The fare of CNG-run 3-wheelers has been set at 40 taka for first two kilometres, and 12 taka per kilometer after that.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader announced the rise in fares at the secre-tariate today. The current lowest fares for bus and minibus rides remain unchanged at 5 and 7 taka respectively. With the new fares in effect, buses will be charging 1.60 taka per kilometer instead of 1.50 taka, and minibus fares will rise by 10 paisa to 1.60 taka per kilometer.
When travelling by CNG autorickshaw, passengers will have to pay 40 taka for the first two kilometres and 12 taka for each of the following kilometres. When stuck in a traffic jam, pas-sengers will have to pump out 2 taka for each kilometre.
