A young British student has died after she fell from a balcony whilst she was holidaying in Thailand.
Maxine Missick, 23, was found dead in a hotel in Southern Thailand at 5.30am on Friday morning by a passing motorcyclist who heard her body hit the ground.
She had checked into a room on the 31st floor of the hotel in Hat Yai last Monday.
Friends of the student have demanded that police begin an investigation into her death.
However they have now ruled out foul play as they was no signs of a robbery in her hotel room.
Police have now said they believe that she committed suicide or she fell from the balcony by accident.
According to the MailOnline, her friends said that Maxine was happy and planning for the future.
Tom Kayzee, her best friend, said, ‘She was happy and there were no signs she was feeling down or troubled that day.’
Inspector General Sornpet Tantiamonchaikul from the Hat Yai Police Department said officers were still waiting for the results of a post mortem examination before ruling on the official cause of death.
It is believed she had a broken back and neck, as well as other injuries from the fall.
