Recently I met the renowned Film Maker Ruhul Amin. I am delighted to share the current status of the film Hason Raja. Shooting for the film has wrapped and is in the final post-production stages.

The power of love drives a ruthless and prevailing landowner in search of divine beauty that transforms him to a more philosophical poet. I had the rare opportunity to view various extracts of the film.

An enthralling storyline based on the life of Hason Raja written by Prof Manzurul Islam, Dr Selim Al-Din and Masum Reza has scripted a powerful and moving exploration of the poet.

Acclaimed Bollywood music director Bappi Lahiri entices through his exhilarating musical orchestration. Legendary Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty’s powerful portrayal of the poet has majestically reincarnated Hason Raja for the big screen. The prevailing presence of Raima Sen and her elegant and compelling beauty illuminates every frame of the film.

The rest of the cast Mamunur Rashid, Shampa Reza, Manosh Bandapadhaya, Arman Parvez, Shamima Tusty, Bakar Bakul, Runa Kanchan and Ayon Chowdhury perform with delicate nuances which have been captured by the film maker with great care. Well known choreographer Sukalyan Bhattacharya has intricately interweaved various classical and folk dance forms, generating a dazzling spectrum of moves and colours. Breathtaking dance pieces transcend you to a bygone era.

An outstanding action sequences, particularly a sword fight by Mithun, surpasses contemporary films. The filmmaker has accomplished some unforgettable cinematic moments that evoke a deep philosophical sensation. The film is due for release at the end of this year.
