Dutch Queen Máxima in Dhaka
The queen of the Netherlands, Máxima, arrived in Dhaka this morning on a three-day visit, as the Unit-ed Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.
Foreign minister Mahmood Ali, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman, and senior officials of foreign ministry welcomed her at the airport on her arrival at 8:30am.
The visit to Bangladesh is part of Queen Máxima’s global efforts to raise awareness and foster action towards including everyine in finan-cial ventures.
During her stay in Bangladesh, she is scheduled to meet President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Finance Minister AMA Muhith. She will also meet other senior officials of the Bangladesh government, development partners, members of civil society, and key people in the pri-vate sector.
